Motif Update: Motif Classic and Motif AI

Motif has been updated to include both the familiar Motif Classic experience and the new Motif AI creation experience, formerly known as Arlo. When you download or open Motif, you will be asked to choose between Motif Classic or Motif AI Beta so you can create in the way that feels best for you.

Both experiences are part of Motif and use the same trusted print quality. The difference is how projects are created and where they are stored and managed.

 

Understanding Motif Classic and Motif AI Project Lists

Motif Classic and Motif AI each maintain their own project list.

All existing Motif projects remain in the Motif Classic project list. Any new projects created in Motif Classic will also appear in the Classic project list.

Projects created in Motif AI Beta will appear in the Motif AI project list.

At this time, project lists are not shared between Classic and AI. A project created in Motif AI cannot be opened in Motif Classic, and a project created in Motif Classic cannot be opened in Motif AI.

 

I Updated Motif and Don’t See My Projects

If you recently updated Motif and do not see your previous projects, you may currently be in the Motif AI experience.

All original Motif projects are located in Motif Classic.

To switch back to Motif Classic:

  1. Click your profile icon to open Account Settings

  2. Choose Switch to Classic

Your original projects should then appear in the Classic project list.

 

Where Projects Are Stored in Each Experience

Motif Classic (iOS)
Projects created in Motif Classic on iOS remain on that device. If you move to a new device, an iCloud backup and restore is required to transfer projects.

Motif Classic (macOS extension)
Projects created in the Motif Classic macOS extension continue to be stored locally on your Mac, unchanged from previous behavior.

Motif AI (macOS and web)
Projects created in Motif AI are stored in the cloud. They can be accessed on supported devices and at create.mimeophotos.com using your account.
