What's the Difference Between Mimeo Photos and Motif?

Both Mimeo Photos and Motif are fantastic options for creating photo products as unique as you. In early 2023, Motif was acquired by Mimeo Photos to provide you with even more options to design and ship stunning, professional-quality pieces to friends, family, clients, and yourself – no matter which device you use.

Below are some similarities and differences between Mimeo Photos and Motif.

Similarities

Both Mimeo Photos and Motif are available on macOS and iOS. On macOS, both apps are fully integrated inside Apple’s Photos app. This means Mac users have direct access to all existing Albums, Smart Albums, Memories, and other image collections within the apps, without having to export or upload.

You can create photo books, calendars, and cards within each of the apps. For each of these products, you can customize your photos and add your own text. You can expect the same great quality from these products, regardless of which app you use to create your project.

Features Unique to Motif

Motif uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to create projects using your best photos. Motif’s intelligence can do the work of gathering together related images so that you don’t have to.

The technology analyzes your images for overall quality and similarity, taking into account things like focus and clarity, people, faces, image orientation, panoramas, and more. Motif uses your best photos and hides duplicates so you can get started quickly.

With Motif, you can preview themes and layouts with your images in the context of your card, book, or calendar. The Motif iOS app includes nearly all of the features of the macOS version, with a fully native user experience optimized for iPhones and iPads.
