Apple recently introduced a bug in macOS version 15.2 and above which is affecting the functionality of Mimeo Photos and Motif.
If you're unable to create or open a Mimeo Photos or Motif project after updating to macOS 15.2 or later, it is likely due to your current Photos library not being set as the "System Photo Library".
We are aware of the significant inconvenience and frustration this creates and are working closely with Apple to address and resolve the issues which were introduced in macOS 15.2.
Until we have resolution on the issues, we are providing the following steps as a workaround.
We highly recommend performing a Time Machine or general backup of your system before making any changes to your Photos library.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and encourage you to reach out to our support team should you have further questions.
Step 1: Go to "Photos -> Settings"
Step 2: Click "Use as System Photo Library"
You will then see a dialog informing you that switching the System Photo Library will turn off iCloud Photos. You will need to click "OK" on this popup to proceed.
If you previously had iCloud Photos enabled, your images in iCloud will remain intact.
It was previously possible to have all of your Mimeo Photos and Motif projects in a non-System Photos Library. With the release of macOS 15.2, this is no longer the case.
If you use multiple Photos libraries to manage photos or projects, you will need to repeat these steps to set your preferred System Photo Library as needed.
Please be assured we are working diligently to get this resolved as soon as possible. Thank you.
